Intercultural Salon
Wutong Shuwu Bookclub is an independent bookclub that provides its members opportunities to elevate reading skills and social skills in a unique peer-mentor mode.
A group of 20+ NYU Shanghai international students with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Chinese, together with 20+ members of this bookclub, with age ranging from 6 to 16 grouped up and engaged in heated conversations regarding mother-tongue reflections, intercultural communications and creative education, along with the sharing of each other’s life and perspectives. The salon was followed by a community walk to a local famous historical destination with to allow more in-depth dialogues between the participants.
This event was also selected to be the city-level Examplary Activity during the International Children’s Book Fair Week.
