It has writing on the bottom and on top there is a big slash across like to say it’s incorrect, just like in my exams.

The whole word ‘Kao Shur’ reminds me of ‘Laoshi’, and teachers are the ones that give tests!

The top component signifies an old man with long hair, which is also the top part of 老 from 老师, and the bottom radical resembles 写 (writing). The overall image then created is that of a teacher handing out a written TEST.

This character has a diagonal slash from the top left down, and when you get answers wrong on a “test” your teacher will slash your answer.

The top part resembles 老 in laoshi as teachers are the ones who run the exam, whereas the bottom part looks like the number 5.

The top looks like a T, the middle an E, ad the bottom a S, which almost spells test. The top part could also look like a pen/pencil and the bottom looks like a scribble or writing on a test.
