looks similar to the number 8, (additionally it may also look like an 8 thats written with 2 different shapes a triangle and square)

the top part is like an angled “n” , and the bottom one means mouth, remember it as a figure of a mouth . Like you are using your mouth to say your name.

depending on how you look at it, the top half of the character looks like an “n” (without the dian, and also looks like an “A” with the dian. NA are the first two letters of “name”

A way to remember writing the character 名 is to think of it as a person with a fancy hat. The top part of the character looks like a hat, and the bottom part represents a person. So, imagine a person wearing a fancy hat, and that’s the character 名! 🎩😄

It might nice to image a person who is stretching to touch its own toe on top of the mouth character radical. The line inside of 夕 could be interpreted as the line that expresses the space between the body and the leg of a person when they stretch forward.
