I remember how to write 冰 by thinking about icicles. I think of the left side structure of this character as the pointy ends of an icicle, and attach that to a water radical.

To me it looks like the right character is slipping because it seems it’s waving its arms in the air, so when they slip,they slip on ice.

I remember 冰 by looking at the left side of the character as an axe, using the outer two strokes of the ice radical and the first half of the water radical. The remaining right half of the character is ice being shattered by an axe.

If you focus on the top left dot as the head and see the closest lines to that as hands and the lines to the right of the middle line as legs. You can kinda of see a person, and the bent middle line can look like a hockey stick. And people play hockey on ice.
