The left side is an eye radical, which makes sense because this means eyes. Also, the right side looks like “很”, so it’s like it “really” means “eyes”

眼 is the first part of 眼睛. I remember 眼 by first noting that the first radical is an eye, which is pretty straight forward. It also looks like a sideways eye. The second part of this character reminds me of a sideways eye with some eyeliner.
