The radical indicates that you need a hand to move an object, and the fact that it is followed by two characters (the second which has two stacked on top of each other) indicates that it is a heavy object to move.

On the left side, it has a hand radicle. Radicles on the right look tall and many objects, which is heavy. So it looks like the hand is trying TO MOVE those HEAVY OBJECTS.

It has a hand radical and hand radical’s next three characters looks hard to memorize, so we can remember it is as hard and heavy, and the meaning is “to move (heavy object)”.

the left radical “扌” (shǒu) represents the hand or action, and the right part “般” (bān) represents “sort” or “kind.” Combining them, the character means “to move” or “to relocate.”

The left part of the character is a hand radical and the middle part looks like a kettlebell that is hard to lift up with one HAND and move, therefore there is a second hand radical on the right , above which 几 indicating several HANDS are needed to MOVE a heavy kettlebell.

If we think about that words we learned in Lesson 16 it can be 从家搬出去 which is using your HAND 手 to lift things which is the right part of the character so it’s so simple that using your hand to move things.

left part is the hand radical, middle looks like 舟 (radical for boat) and the right looks like the right part of 没. When you need to move a boat with your hands and you don’t have water, it is moving something very heavy.

搬is made up of radical “hand” 手 and the phonetic component 般 meaning “sort/kind”. Imagine moving to a new place, carrying all kinds of things with your hands.
