it has the hand radical on the left, looks you are using your *hands* to carry a box (on the right) with shoulders.

There is the radical for ‘hand’ (扌) on the left, and the character that resembles half of 但 (但是, dànshì) on the right, which can be remembered by the pinyin ‘dàn’. Using this character, we could make up a sentence like ‘Everyone carries things with their hand, but I carry things using my foot

left is the hand, the right is component of dan in danshi (but). when you have a HAND BUT cannot use them, you carry things with shoulder
