Often used in “周末” (weekend), the inside part of 周 looks like a mouth (口) buried underground (土), symbolizing the wish to disconnect and not reply to work-related communication during the weekend. The outer part (冂) looks like a shield which protects us from unwanted communication during the weekend, but only for a short period of time after which you fall down (from the disconnected bottom of 冂) into work obligations during weekdays.
