So there is a person radicals and the second character looks like 家 (house) but with a different top. People living in the same house are usually family members with the same surname or features. Hence, they are “alike” (maybe a little too far fetched)

i memorize it by seeing the person radical and that the bottom of the left part of the character is very similar to 家, therefore i think that the people in the same house are very alike.

this reminds me of the 人 radical and 家. a person is usually alike to their family at home. （像）

I like to think of this as a person radical with box and a hat on top with three legs towards the left. The last leg has a “k” towards the right.

radical is ren (person), and 象 looks like a 3 legs and window it is so unique looking so i can memorize that with this
